Josh Vaughan | Head Coach
Josh Vaughan was named the Dickinson State University Head Men’s Basketball Coach in September of 2017. In the 2017-2018 season, he led the Blue Hawks to a 2nd place North Star Athletic Conference regular season finish and made it to the conference championship game. In his first season, he coached all-conference player Marcus White who was one of the leading scorers in the country during his time at DSU and was named Honorable Mention All-American during the 2017-2018 season.
From 2015-2017, Josh was an assistant coach for the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. He was the head recruiter and in charge of player development and scouting opponents. Vaughan was also the director of operations at North Dakota State University from 2013-2015. While he was a Bison, he managed to assist his team to back-to-back Conference Championships and NCAA tournament appearances.
From 2011-2013, Vaughan was an assistant men’s basketball coach for Minnesota State University Moorhead where he was part of NCAA tournament team that made it to the final 32. Josh got his start at the collegiate level at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC where he was the director of operations in 2010-2011 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
A native of Braham, MN, Vaughan attend NDSU for five years and was a member of the 2009 NCAA Tournament team.
Josh graduated from North Dakota State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport and Recreation Leadership with a minor in Coaching. He later went on to receive his Masters of Science degree from Minnesota State University in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration.
Vaughan resides in Dickinson with his wife Halie and one-year-old son Redik.
